On March 15, 2014 Allen lost his courageous 10 year battle with cancer at the age of 71. Cherished son of Dorothy Pethke. Devoted husband of Chris (nee Staszewski) Pethke. Beloved father of Tanya (Ed) Brady, Shelly (Kurt) Gardner and Todd (Laura) Pethke. Loving grandpa of Tanner and Brayden Gardner and Cameron and Kendra Pethke. Brother-in-law of John Thren. Uncle of Steve (Lenore) Thren, Jacob, Natalie, Stacie (Spencer) Campbell, Evan and Nolan. Preceded in death by his father Herman Pethke, his sister Alice Thren, and his grandparents Otto (Minnie) Pethke, and Albert (Louise) Rahn.

Visitation at the Funeral Home THURSDAY, March 20, 2014 from 4-7 P.M. Funeral Services at 7 P.M. Private interment Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Allen graduated from Suring High School in 1961. He moved to Milwaukee and started working at Wrought Washer in 1962. On June 18, 1964 Allen was drafted into the United States Army. He was a Radio Relay Carrier and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged June 15, 1966. He then returned to Wrought Washer and obtained his apprenticeship as a tool and dye maker. In 1975, he started at Master Lock and retired from there in 1998. He also opened his own small engine repair and saw sharpening business in 1980 out of his own garage, A. Pethke Service. He eventually moved the business to a facility in Milwaukee. He retired from A. Pethke Service in 2010, when his son Todd bought the business that he still continues to run. He spent his retirement hunting, fishing, golfing, and enjoying his family and friends.
