Jill Barrett Obituary

HASLET, Texas - Jill Heinz Barrett, 39, formerly of Dubuque and Oelwein, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Texas.
There will be a celebration of life for Jill Barrett Saturday, March 28, at St. John's Episcopal Church at 14th and Main in Dubuque, with the Rev. Kathleen Milligan officiating. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m. 
Jill was born Aug. 8, 1975 in Dubuque, Iowa to proud parents Rick and JoAnn (Duwe) Heinz. Jill spent her early childhood at Frentress Lake until her family moved to Oelwein in 1984. Jill attended and graduated from Oelwein High School class of '93. Jill was active in school and her church, including cheerleading, homecoming court, and church youth groups. Jill was always a friend to everyone, and always shared her beautiful smile.  
After graduation, Jill moved with her family to Boise, Idaho, where she met and married Rico Barrett on Oct. 6, 2000. Jill's life ambition was to be a mother and wife, and Jill and Rico were blessed with three children. Jill was a dedicated and loving mother and wife. Even through her brave and courageous battle with cancer, she always put her family first. 
Surviving are her husband Rico Barrett; daughter Emma 13; sons Dominick 10 and Julien 8; stepdaughter Marissa 17; parents JoAnn (Jeff) Chance and Rick Heinz (Connie Kitchen); sister Jodi (Chriss) Davidson and their three sons Vincent, Gabriel, and Alex; brother Jason Heinz (Sean McDonald); parents-in-law Bob and Sue Barrett; sister-in-law Sarah Barrett; grandparents Gene and Nancy Duwe; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jill was predeceased by her grandparents Ted and Georgia Heinz.
