FAIRBANK - Kenneth Leroy Westendorf, 80, of rural Fairbank, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, surrounded by family at his daughter's home in rural Cedar Falls.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Oran. Following the service, military rites will be conducted at the church by the Messerer-Fox American Legion Post 92 of Westgate.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Readlyn.

Kenneth was born on Nov. 20, 1932, in Bremer County, Iowa, the son of Helmuth and Clara (Brickman) Westendorf. He graduated in 1950 from Oran High School. He served in the United States Army from 1953-55. Kenneth was united in marriage to Shirley Ganske on June 17, 1956, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Readlyn.
The couple made their home on the Westendorf family farm, where they farmed and raised their 6 children. He enjoyed fishing, farming, hunting and carpentry. Kenneth was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Oran and was chaplain for the Westgate Legion Post 92, where he participated yearly in their Memorial Day services.
Kenneth is survived by 4 daughters, Tammy (Jeff) Muschick of Clemons, Kandi (Roger) Hoffert of Fairbank, Renae Westendorf Allen of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Rhonda (Tom) Graham of Cedar Falls; one son, Kendall Westendorf of Waterloo; his grandchildren and their families; Nathan (Christie) Kane and Brandon, Chase and Emma; Matt (Natalie) Kane and Katelyn and Sawyer; Troy (Sabrina) Cowan and Hannah, Anthony, Austin, Levi and Trevor; Dan Kane and Olivia and Jaxon; Aaron (Karrisa) Goodrich and Lily and Lincoln; Jeremy Rich; Kara Lee Mariah Westendorf Allen; Ashlee, Patrick and Westen Graham; Makenzie and Makayla Westendorf; 9 step grandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Irene Dierks of Dixon, and Donna Tagtow of Waterloo; two sisters-in-law, Esther Westendorf of Cedar Falls, and Lorena Westendorf of Waverly. 
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, his parents, a daughter, Karri Goodrich, brothers, Edwin, Irvine, and LaVerne Westendorf and a sister, Esther Westendorf.
