Anna M. (Springston) Phillips born May 5, 1929 in Akron, Ohio went home to be with her Lord on February 9, 2013.
She has been a member of the Akron Baptist Temple for over 50 years serving in several ministries including the Nursing Home and Sisters In Christ. Anna graduated from Edinburg High School in 1947 and attended Actual Business College. She was employed by Marik Spring for 38 years.
On October 10, 1952 she married the love of her life, Robert S. Phillips who preceded her in death on January 19, 2000. Also preceded in death by sons, Douglas A., Robert N. and Steven R.; parents, Worthy and Effie Springston; siblings, Alma Givens Charles, Sylvia, Worthy, Chester and Lillian Springston; brothers-in-law, Wilford Givens and Charles Johnson. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughters, Sheryl and Vicki Phillips; son, Roger (Angela) Phillips; daughters-in-law, Rebecca Phillips and Karen Phillips. She was the best grandma in the world to Carrie, Brian, Rick, Kelly, Tracie, Andrew, Jennifer and Amber; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Johnson; sisters-in-law, Barbara Springston, Patricia (Keith) Horton; and many beloved nephews and nieces.
Her children would like to thank Dr. Kathleen Shoemaker, Dr. Steven Radwany and the Hospice of Summa Team for their loving care and support.
Funeral services at the Akron Baptist Temple on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mike Prebynski officiating. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
