Karl E. Weitzel
Karl E. Weitzel, 82, passed away on June 5, 2014. He was born January 30, 1932 in Kent, Ohio to Casper and Christina Weitzel.
He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and retired from Ohio Bell after 35 years of service. He had been an active member of Pioneers of America for many years and was also a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Karl was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha; sons, Ken and Randy (Elaine) Weitzel; daughter, Cheryl Rollence; brothers, Hank (Vi) and Bob (Jean) Weitzel; sister, Christine (Don) Blaurock; nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family gives special thanks to Summa Hospice and the staff of Chapel Hill Community for their loving care.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church on Tuesday, at 10 a.m., Pastor Eileen Woyen officiating. Interment at East Liberty Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 4700 S. Main St., Akron, OH 44319 or Chapel Hill Community, 12200 Strausser St. NW, Canal Fulton, OH 44614, in memory of Karl.
