Harlan, Althea Burkholder (Rawson) - Ravenna  
Althea Burkholder Harlan Althea Burkholder Harlan passed quietly in the early morning hours of April 22, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Apopka, Florida on September 2, 1927, Althea spent most of her life in Ravenna. She worked as the receptionist for many years at the Portage County Courthouse. Preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Cora Rawson; stepmother, Hattie Rawson; and beloved brother, David "Bud" Rawson; she is survived by her devoted sons, Donald (Susan) Burkholder, Larry Burkholder and her faithful dog Kelly. The family would like to thank the kind and special nurses and her wonderful doctor at UH Medical Center, who provided comfort and support in her final days. The family asks that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers. There will be no calling hours. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio. Barbara J. Harter LODI -- Barbara J. Harter, 74, of Lodi passed away April 25, 2016. She was born January 12, 1942 in Wadsworth to Frank and Margaret Harter. Barbara worked for the Westfield Insurance Company for over 37 years. She enjoyed playing golf and bowling. She was also a caregiver for her mother, Margaret, for many years. She was preceded in death by her dad, Frank Harter and brother, George Harter. She is survived by her mom, Margaret Harter; brother, Frank Harter; nieces, Lisa Mustelier and Chris Harter; and great niece, Erin Mustelier. Family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the HIlliard Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, Ohio. Hartman, Lorine P. Raess (Muntz) - Akron  
Lorine P. Muntz Raess Hartman Lori Hartman, 88, passed away April 10, 2016. She was born on June 10, 1927 to the late Homer and Nellie Muntz in Cass City, Michigan. After graduating from Central Michigan University, where she met her husband, Daniel Raess, Lori moved to Cuyahoga Falls and taught at Cuyahoga Falls High School until she retired in 1992. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Lori was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Raess in 1973; second husband, Fred Hartman in 2000; twin brother, Newell Homer; and sister, Nellie Marie. She is survived by sons, Dr. Daniel (Lisa), David (Sharon), and Douglas (Tamra) Raess; daughter, Christine (Tom) O'Boyle; grandchildren, Elisabeth (John) Lagenkamp, Kim (Peter) Lyndsay, Scott and Sydney Raess, Brian and Katherine Raess, Dylan and Leigha Raess, Patrick, Timothy and Brendan O'Boyle; great grandchildren Xavier, Daniel and Raphael Langenkamp; sister, Velma Bennett; as well as many other loving family and friends. A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road (SR 619). Hayes, Mabel M. - Akron  
Mabel M. Hayes Mabel Sund Hayes, 95, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. At an early age she dedicated her life to the Lord and never faltered. She held several positions as a member of the Fern Leaf Chapter of the Eastern Star, served her country in the United States Navy during World War II, where she met her husband of 68 years. Mabel worked for 30 years at Polsky's, retiring in the early 70's where she was able to spend her time enjoying life with her grandchildren, sewing, gardening and visiting with the elderly up until her mid 80's. Soon there after she met her dear friend, Lavonne Dilworth, who without fail called everyday to check on her. Preceded in death by her husband, Beecher (Buck) Hayes; she is survived be her son, David and his wife Vicki; her grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd., Akron, with Pastor Jason Boggs officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time. Burial to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. The Schlup Pucak Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hayes family. Henry, LaVeta E. - Akron  
LaVeta E. Henry LaVeta E. Henry, 66, went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2016 with loved ones near. She was born September 2, 1949 to Betty Bradley and Leonard Knox. She was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. She attended Akron Public Schools, graduating from South High School in 1967. She was a member of the Church of God MPGT where she served faithfully in many capacities, including Pastor's Wife for 16 years until the passing of her husband. She was employed by Akron Public Schools where she worked as a Teacher's Assistant. In 1969, she was united in marriage to her love, Ronald L. Henry, Sr. to this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years and by both parents. She is survived by her son, Ronald L. Henry, Jr.; daughters, Rachel (Michael) Brown and Mariesa (Wesley) Moore-Gentry; grandsons, Arrik, Ronnell and W. Gavin; granddaughters, Taneal, Makenna, and Michaela (soon to be); brothers, Earl and Eddie Moore; sisters, Phyllis Dawson, Michele Moore, Nancy Barnes, Doris (Terry) Dobbin, Loretta (Derrick) Gentry, Adrian Currie, Yolanda Moore, and Ledoria Johnson; a host of other loving relatives, church family and friends. Service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Church of God MPGT, 200 Cole Ave., Akron, OH 44301. Elder Ronald L. Henry, Jr. eulogizing. Friends may visit the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1674 White Ave., Akron, OH 44307. Interment Glendale Cemetery.

Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wendell Horvath Jr.. She is survived by her son, D.
