Lovas, Theresa A. - Barberton  
"THEN AND NOW" Theresa A. Lovas BARBERTON -- Theresa A. Lovas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2015. She was born April 24, 1917, in Endicott, New York. Theresa graduated from Suffield High School where she was a proud member of the girls basketball team. She was employed at Akron City Hospital before her marriage to Frank Lovas. They were married for 63 years before he passed away in 2002. She and Frank were parishioners of Holy Trinity Catholic Church until its closing and then became members of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Barberton. Theresa enjoyed embroidering, gardening, watching Jeopardy, playing cards, vacations in Florida, polka music, watching wholesome movies, walking, feeding the ducks and especially visits with her family. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Apolen (Maron) White; brothers, John (Mary Lou) White, William (Helen) White, Dr. Emil White; and her stepgranddaughter, Betty Ann (Glenn) Ashcraft; Theresa is survived by her daughter, Judith (Dr. Ronald) Olson of New Mexico; sons, Dennis (Joyce) of Canal Fulton, Robert (Rebecca, dec) of Barberton and Larry (Donna) of Barberton. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Erik Olson and Karl Olson of Michigan, Phil (Corinne) Lovas of Arizona, Greg Lovas of Canal Fulton, Christine Lovas of Barberton, Matthew Lovas of South Lebanon, Ohio and Anne (Attila) Vamos of N. Carolina. Her great-grandchildren, who will miss her stories of growing up on the family farm in Suffield, include; Samuel, Nathaniel and Brooke Lovas of Arizona, Evan Lease and Juliana Lovas of Barberton, Ruby and Scarlet Lovas of South Lebanon, Ohio, and Mary, Emma, Vivian and Clare Vamos of N. Carolina. Theresa is also survived by her sisters, Else (Dr. Stan, dec) Stitt of California and Mary (Leslie, dec) Sunday of Suffield, Ohio; along with many nieces and nephews from the White and Lovas families. The family would like to extend special thanks to Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living, The Inn at Coal Ridge Assisted Living and Summa Barberton Palliative Care for all their care and support of Mom and Grandma these past eight years. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 Sixth St., N.W., Barberton 44203. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, Ohio. Theresa's family will receive friends on Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Marko, Helen allene "Leigh" - Kent  
Helen Allene "Leigh" Marko Helen Allene "Leigh" Marko, 75, of Akron, died Monday, August 31, 2015 at Akron City Hospital Medical Center. She was born October 23, 1939 in Carey, to Allen E. and Margaret (Chudanov) Veitch. Allene was a graduate of Rootstown High School and studied classical piano at Kent State University. She was Secretary/Treasurer of Marko Transport, Inc. and most recently retired from the Akron Legal News and Akron-Summit County Public Library. Allene was an avid reader and loved to cook, bake and knit. Allene loved all animals, especially cats. She is survived by daughter, Adrianne Leigh (Michael Vrabcek) Marko of Akron; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Marko and sister, Alice Faye Veitch. Ronald L. McQuaide Ronald L. McQuaide, age 54, went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2015 after a courageous battle against leukemia. Lawrence O. Meers, Sr. Lawrence O. Meers, Sr., 92, joined the Lord on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Lawrence served his country in the U.S. Air Force for seven years and retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie and his son, Jerry. He is survived by his sons, William (Ruth), Lawrence Jr. (Tamara), and Daniel; grandchildren, Angela, Andrew, Andrea and Tabitha Meers. Juliana M. Morton (Houser) Juliana M. Morton (nee Houser), age 73, passed from this earthly life to her eternal home on August 29, 2015. She was born and lived in Akron all her life and was self-employed. Juliana was preceded in death by her parents, Mathias and Julia Houser and her husband, Ira H. Morton. She is survived by her sister, Frances Houser; and brother-in-law, Don Boggs of Windham, Ohio. Reynolds, Louis J. - Canal Fulton  
"THEN AND NOW" Louis J. Reynolds Louis Joseph Reynolds, 85, passed away on August 31, 2015. Mr. Reynolds was bon on September 9, 1929 in Akron, the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Reynolds. He was an active member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where he also attended Elementary School. Louis was a graduate of Central High School and was active in Sea Scouts as a teenager. A kind, generous and loving man, whom some considered a Saint, Mr. Reynolds would do anything for anyone and he would always lend an open ear, heart or hand. He was a very hard worker whom everyone loved and respected. He worked at the Short Stop and Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse as a bartender; 29 years with McNeil and 17 years as a machinist at National Machine. Louis was also a very active member of the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium. Preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Sally Reynolds; brother, Gabriel Reynolds and sister, Mary "Meme" Gardner; a truly devoted family man, Louis leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Brenda Keener; sons, Frank and Louis Reynolds; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Jackie) Reynolds; good friend, Linda Brookshire, who meant a lot to him in his life and all of his co-workers and Natatorium harem Calling hours will be 4 to 7 Thursday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Robb, James Vincent "Jim" - Akron  
James "Jim" Vincent Robb James "Jim" Vincent Robb, 91, died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Western Reserve Hospital (formerly Cuyahoga Falls General). Jim was born December 18, 1923 and was a lifetime resident of Cuyahoga Falls. He graduated in 1942 from St. Vincent High School. A draftsman by trade, Mr. Robb worked for the Lucien Q Moffat Company. He was proud to have served as a USMC Marine. Generous and caring, Jim's life was dedicated to helping others. He volunteered for numerous organizations including Right to Life, the City of Cuyahoga Falls, and Sunrise Memory Care. He was actively involved in his church and the Holy Name Society. He also had a deep interest in genealogy and worked to preserve family history. By his nieces and nephews, Uncle Jim will be fondly remembered for sharing his love of the outdoors with them. Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Catherine (Latham); sisters, Dorthea Homer and Pauline Slick; brothers, Richard, infant Arthur, William, Arthur Jr., John, and Wilfred; he is survived by sister, Mary A. Salzwimmer, Lee - Akron  
Lee Salzwimmer Lee S. Salzwimmer, 68, passed away unexpectedly August 30, 2015. Born August 28, 1947 in Harrisville, West Virginia, he lived most of his life in the Akron and Tallmadge areas, and graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1966. Lee entered the U.S. Army and served for three years as a diesel / hydraulic mechanic in Germany. After the Army, he graduated from Denver Automotive and Diesel College (Lincoln College of Technology) and worked as a diesel mechanic for International Harvester before going to Consolidated Freightways, where he retired after 25 years of service. He served as Union Steward for the Teamsters for several years. An avid clock and car connoisseur, he was devoted to his family to the end. He enjoyed going to his children's sporting events, spending time in West Virginia, family vacations at Disney World, and going to the ocean. Preceded in death by father, Daniel Salzwimmer; mother, Helen Mason; and stepfathers, Bob Knepper and Bob Mason; he is survived by Michele Salzwimmer; son, Charles (Jennifer) Salzwimmer; daughters, Suzanne Salzwimmer, Lisa (Keith) Burwell and Amy (Pete) Goranitis; grandchildren, Samuel, Olivia, Gabrielle and Nico; brother, Jim (Loretta) Salzwimmer; nephew, Chad (Amanda) Salzwimmer; niece, Kim (Tim) Coleman, Gavin, Wade, and Raven; father-in-law, Charles Mayreis; Godparents, Jay and Elvira Carney; and special nieces and nephews. The following words embody Lee's feelings entirely - "No time to cry, don't shed a tear, I am with God, in spirit I am here. I kept the faith, my spirit is light, I am at peace now, I fought the good fight." Special thanks to the Harrisville and Parkersburg communities, volunteer firefighters, and the state troopers that searched tirelessly for Lee. Your compassion and effort is sincerely appreciated.
