Shirley Leidal Shirley Leidal, 91, of Akron passed away March 19, 2015. Shirley was born in Akron on April 18, 1923 to the late John and Mary Simpson. She was employed by and retired from Admiral Equipment. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1965. She is survived by her son, Jim (Liz) Leidal; daughter, Linda (Karl) Getzinger; grandchildren, Mira, Eric, William, Joel, Keith and Lauren; four great- grandchildren; and brother, Harold Simpson. A Celebration of Shirley's life will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 (SR 619). Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Letz, Anna - Akron  
Anna Letz Anna Letz, 95, went home to be with the Lord on March 21. She was born in Akron on January 14, 1920, to John and Elizabeth Schilling. Ann was a resident of Akron. She also lived in Fort Wayne, Ind. and Jensen Beach, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, John; and her sisters, Betty (Barney) Finkel and Margaret "Mag" (John) George. Ann worked at B.F. Goodrich, Co-Op Market, and Sparkle Market. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Akron. She loved to sew, and was always generous with her talents by lovingly creating gifts for others. Ann was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She will always be remembered for her kind and gentle nature. She also enjoyed baking and playing cards. Ann is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Marty) Misbrener; son, George (Judy) Letz; grandchildren, Fr. David Misbrener, Lisa (Jamie), Lisa (Jamie) Woods, Kevin (Katie) Letz, and Kurt (Kris) Letz; six great-grandchildren; and special niece, Hazel (Don) Klein. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Walter A. Klatt, and the nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit of Summa of Barberton Hospital for their compassionate care. Marzullo (Calafiura), age 82, of Twinsburg, was the beloved wife of the late Theodore; loving mother of Carol Petersen, Michael, David, Philip (Kathy), Jim (Theresa), John and Daniel (Candice); treasured grandmother of 17; cherished great-grandmother of 10; daughter of the late Basilio and Josephine Calafiura; devoted sister of Frank Calafiura, Toni Calafiura, Jo Ann Antigiovanni and Marie Calafiura ; sister-in-law of Anna Marzullo; and dear aunt of many. Thomas Glenn Mason Thomas Glenn Mason, 58, of Akron, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2015. He was born in Akron, Ohio on September 15, 1956. Tom was a devoted father and minister, who dedicated his life to the Lord. He was also a veteran of the military, serving in the U.S. Army. Son of Arnold Wesley Mason Sr. and Blanche Dowd, he is survived by his four children: son, Kyia Lee, daughters, Sheriah Larie, Shanale Lavon and LaToyah Ann; stepmother, Helen C.; brothers, Arnold Wesley Jr., Kenneth (Deborah), David (Donna), Raymond; sisters, S. Elaine (Kevin), Cynthia; and close companion, Regina Thomas. A Remembrance Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 28th, 2015, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with service for close family and friends following, at Adams Mason Funeral Home, 791 E. Mathews Jr., Isaac - Akron  
Isaac Mathews, Jr. Isaac Mathews, Jr., 76, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2015. He was born on February 2, 1939 to Isaac Sr. and Mary (Carter) in Montgomery, Alabama and was long-time resident of the Akron, Ohio area. He graduated from Akron South High School in 1957. Mr. Mathews was a very devout Christian and longtime dedicated member of First Apostolic Faith Church in Akron. He also was a volunteer and member of many faith-based, charitable, and civic organizations on a local and national level. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Isaac leaves to mourn his passing, his father, Isaac Mathews, Sr.; and children, Katrina Washington (husband Ray), Loren Renee Mayer-Cogdill (husband Mark Cogdill), and Mark Darren Mathews (wife Jody Sherwin); and grandchildren, Javonni Stevenson, Danique McMillan, and Myles Sherwin Mathews. He is also survived by sisters, Emma Gamble and Sheila Jimerson; brothers, Alfred Mathews and Ronnie Holman; a host of other family and friends will also mourn his passing. Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at First Apostolic Faith Church, 790 Easter Ave., Akron, OH 44307. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon. Evelyn M. Maxim (nee Shea) BARBERTON -- Evelyn M. Maxim, 89, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2014 at Summa Barberton Hospital. Born in Frostburg, Maryland Evelyn had been a Barberton resident most of her life where she was a member of the former S.S. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and currently a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Andrew and daughter, Andrea Obraza, survivors include her daughters, Cheryl (John) Shuman of Canal Fulton, Marilyn Maxim of Barberton and Barbara (Jeffrey) Saylor of Wadsworth; son-in-law, John Obraza of Wadsworth; grandchildren, John, Jaclyn and Timothy Shuman, Ryan (Christina) Obraza, Andrew (Amanda) Saylor, Kristin (Robert) Roark and Scott Saylor; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Charlie Saylor and Grayson Roark; brother-in-law, Donald Kyle; sister-in-law, Helen Hagedorn; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Doylestown Health Care Center and the staff at Summa Barberton Hospital, especially the Palliative Care Team. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery.
