Beecher "Buck" Hayes

Beecher "Buck" Hayes went home to be with the our Lord December 28, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elzie and Gracie Hayes, infant children James L. and Joanne, and brother Chester. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Mabel; and son, David (Vicki) of Brimfield.

He was self employed at Akron Truck Rental for over 30 years. He served his country during World War II on the Battleship USS South Dakota. He was a life member of Firestone Post # 3383 VFW, a long attending member of Victory Lodge #649 F.& A.M., Tadmor Shrine and its Tri-County Transportation Unit and the Oriental Band.

He was a great father, wonderful grandfather, a special friend and grandfather to all the children who loved him.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Schlup-Pucak Funeral Chapel, 788 Kenmore Blvd., where Victory Lodge will hold Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 with Pastor Jason Boggs officiating. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
