Bill Archer, 81, a long time resident of Akron, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2 in Florida, which had been his winter home, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Tina Archer; sons, Gary (Mary Jane) Archer of Florida, Rick Archer of Canal Fulton; daughter, Becki (Gary) Sharrock of Florida; brother, Wally (Bernie) Archer; sisters, Penny (Jim) Ralston, Carol (Wes) Wilson; brother-in-law, Marshall (Janet) Short; grandchilden, Gary (Liz) Archer and Simona (Jim) Hoy; three great-granddaughters; close family friend, Brian Ross, numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by sister, Evelyn Johnson.
Bill owned and operated Archer's Blue Roof Cottages, Marina, and Resort in Campbellford, Ontario, Canada. He also developed the original Bucktail Muskie fishing lure and won many fishing trophies and contests. He was a professional builder and contractor throughout most of his life, and former owner of the now Spring Heights Educational Center, in Spencer, W. Va. He also started and owned several other businesses during his lifetime. Bill was a lover of all kinds of flowers and the family would appreciate them.
Funeral services FRIDAY, 1 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton), with Rev. Brent Malone officiating. Friends may call THURSDAY, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Canal Fulton Union Cemetery. (Swigart-Easterling, 330-854-2356.)
