C. G. Jerry Brown

C. G. Jerry Brown, age 80, of Medina, passed away on November 3, 2012 in Cleveland. He was born in Waverly, Ohio on December 29, 1931 to the late Herbert and Nelle (Sautter) Brown.

Jerry was a pharmacist for many years, from having his own drugstore in Waverly, working for several different pharmacies, and finally retiring from Marc's. While living in Waverly he also served as the Mayor. In Medina Jerry was the auctioneer for his company, Brown Auction Service. Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Medina Kiwanis and the American Legion. Jerry enjoyed golfing and bowling and attending local theatrical and musical productions.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his children, Teri (Peter) Ferra of Dayton, Nanci (Jack) Dodgson of Stow, and Jay (Molly) Brown of Medina; grandchildren, Eli and Aaron Dodgson, Monica Malone, and Randy and Kelsey Brown; and great-grandaughter, Kyleigh Smith.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita; his brothers, Herb "Junior" and Jack Brown.

Funeral service will be 7:30 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina 44256. Rev. Dr. Neal Sadler will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the service at 7:30 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012. Please meet at the funeral home at 9:30. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American , 1689 E. 115th St., Cleveland, OH 44106.
