Catherine "Betty" Catlin

Catherine "Betty" Catlin, 91, of Akron, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2013, surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., was married and raised her daughter in Akron, then retired to Florida for a time, where she had many friends. She served as President of the Ladies of the Elks South Hillsborough Lodge "2672" and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the V.F.W. Post #6287 in Ruskin, Fla. She was also an avid bingo player, talented seamstress and enjoyed listening to the Cavs games. She loved family gatherings, especially birthdays, where she made sure everyone got their card!

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert "Bob"; brother, Bob Eustice; and sister, Maze "Emmy" Shocklee. She is survived by daughter, Sandra (Marlin) Geesaman; grandchildren, Peggy (Don) Shultz of Green, Linda (Rex) Fletcher of Utah, Bill (Michele) Geesaman of Colorado, David Geesaman of South Carolina and Scott Geesaman of South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Darren, Kaitlin, Kelli and Drew Shultz, Teagan and Trey Fletcher, Sarah, Michael, Daniel, Simon and Samuel Geesaman and Allissa, Dominic and Joseph Geesaman; sister, Helen (Russ) Kollman; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Betty's final resting place will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
