Donald Anthony D'Agostine

"Don", 82, passed away on Jan. 23, 2013.

He was born March 25, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to Nicola D'Agostino and Josephine M. (Hinderschied) and attended St. John's Catholic School and Miller School. After returning from serving in the U.S. Army, he met and married Rose Marie Fox. Don worked as a driver for Morrison Motor Freight for 18 years. At the suggestion of his wife, Don ran for Business Agent with Local 24, and eventually became president.

His hobbies were gardening, making spaghetti sauce and weightlifting at the Natatorium. In 2007, at the age of 77, Don entered the seniors competition in Columbus, and won the gold medal in his division by bench pressing 360 pounds.

Don was preceded in death by His devoted wife of 58 years, Rose "Tootie", in 2006; brother, Joseph W. D'Agostine; and his granddaughter, Tracy Ladd.

Surviving Don are son, Donald N. (June) and grandson, Nick; daughter, Linda (David) Plouse, grandsons, David (Melinda) and Christopher Plouse, granddaughter, Annmarie; son, David A. D'Agostine and granddaughter, Mary Rose.

He also leaves his sister, Mary Ann (Michael) Finelli and sister-in-law, Lois D'Agostine and her family. Don leaves five beautiful great-grandchildren, Gracie Rose, Lucas Anthony, Curtis James, Hanna, Kenna, many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Sheila Klusty and assisting caregivers of Sheila's Special Services, Elder Care and Assisted Living Home for all the kindness, love and great care extended to Don.

Mass of Christian Burial 12 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church Randolph, 2643 Waterloo Rd., Mogadore, OH 44260. Friends may call Friday, 10 to 11 a.m. at the Ciriello and Carr Cuyahoga Falls Chapel at 810 Portage Tr. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
