Donald E. Achberger

Donald E. Achberger, 83, formally of Akron, Ohio, passsed away peacefully Monday, at the home of his son in Lisbon, Ohio after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 16, 1925, son of George and Pearl Achberger. He graduated from Buchtel High School, and began his apprentice-ship at B.F. Goodrich where he eventually retired after 40 years.

He is survived by his six children, Terry and (Barb) Achberger of Lisbon, Ohio who were his caregivers the last three years, Ronald and (Ruby) Achberger of Akron, David Achberger of Akron, Susan and (Robert) Corall of Akron, Nancy and (Larry) Freudeman of Akron, Cindy and (Jim) Cook of Poland, Ohio; and his sister, Carol Freeland of North Canton. Also survived by his 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grand children. He was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Betty, of 55 years; infant daughter, Sandra Lee. Also brothers, Richard and George Jr. He was a devoted husband and father. His hobbies inlcuded story telling and tropical fish and he loved to travel. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, (811 Grant St.) where funeral services will take place at Noon, interment Rose Hill Burial Park.
