Earl E. Drews

Earl E. Drews, 89, passed away February 16, 2013.

Born in Akron, Ohio, he graduated from Garfield High School in 1941. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 39 years, retiring in 1980, and a member of N.A.L.C. Branch #148 for over 67 years. He then worked for First Merit Bank for ten years, retiring in 1990.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Edna Mae, in 2002. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Jim Krause of Uniontown, and Marlene and Jim Morgan of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Tracy (Thomas) Curran, Jeff (Alison) Krause, Steve (Amanda) Morgan, Michelle Morgan (Fiance Josh Christner); great-grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Krause, Kathleen and Patrick Curran.

Service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a .
