Edward H. Asher

CUYAHOGA FALLS --Edward H. Asher, 94, went home to be with his Lord April 1, 2013.

He was born in Chicago, III., October 6, 1918 and a resident of this area most of his life. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Navy in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theaters. Upon his honorable discharge, he graduated from the University of Akron. He retired from Firestone after 42 years of service which included home and auto supply, trade sales, dealer relations and special events. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. He was a former member of the Firestone Country Club and a volunteer for the United Way.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Georgia Louise Asher. He is survived by his daughter, Linda L. Faura; son, Gary (Theresa); and grandchildren, Erik, Eileen and Kathryn.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 8 in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. A military service will be conducted by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. Memorials may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 W. Portage Trail Ext., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223.
