Edward Rhoades Badger

Edward Rhoades Badger, 88, of Ravenna, Ohio, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Robinson Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Badger was born in Boulder, Colorado on April 22, 1920, the son of the late G.W. and Osa (Rhoades) Badger. He leaves his beloved wife, Wilma Gurley Badger, who he married July 3, 1942 in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Mr. Badger served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army 369th Engineer Combat Battalion, in Europe during World War II, in General Patton's Third Army Group. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and from Purdue University in the School of Engineering, in West Lafayette, Indiana. He was retired from the B.F. Goodrich Company. Mr. Badger was a member of the Masonic Lodge, #493 of Commerce Oklahoma, the Ohio American Legion, and the First Christian Church in Ravenna.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Reverend Dr. Perry Mattern on Sunday at 4 p.m. Final resting place will be Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, on a later date.
