Estel C. Aleshire Sr.

Estel C. Aleshire Sr., age 77 of Ravenna, passed away Friday, September 7, 2007.

Born January 20, 1930, in Hewett, West Virginia, a son of the late Elmer and Erna (Ellis) Aleshire. Estel retired from the Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills. He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean War, and enjoyed woodworking and playing bluegrass music with his band the Cuyahoga Valley Boys.

Survivors include his children, Estel (Rebecca) Aleshire, Jr. of Hudson, Libby (Andrew Bronsky) Aleshire of Ravenna, Joseph (Rosemary) Aleshire of Ravenna; grandchildren, Melissa (Nathan) Johnson, Jennifer (Tony) Jarosz, Stephen Laing, and Rachael Aleshire; brother, Edsel Aleshire of Hewett; sisters, Virgie Burns of Sagamore Hills, Lena (Moe) Kruk of Keyser, WVa., Thermal Cook of Poca, WVa., Nellie Gordon of Streetsboro, June (Ken) Brown of Charleston, WVa.; half-sister, Eula Wilson; half-brothers, Elmer Jr. and Nolan Aleshire. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Cook) Aleshire in 2005; also preceded by sisters, Zoma Burns and Roma McQuain.

Friends will be received Monday from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service officiated by Brother Patrick Trickett, at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, Ohio 44266. Interment will follow at Edinburg Cemetery with military honors. Please share your memories at
