George S. Bethel

George S. Bethel, 86, son of the late Henry James and Ruby (Snowden) Bethel, died at home after a long illness.

He was a member of Wesley Temple A.M.E. Zion Church. He was a former board member of Interval Brotherhood Home, a Red Cross Volunteer, and a veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He leaves behind daughter, Tanya Bethel of Washington D.C.; sister, Margaret Johnson; niece, Dr. Kimberly Artis (Henry Welch, Jr.) of Toledo; great-niece, Khalila Artis-Welch of Columbus; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 8, 2013, at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home. Visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Interval Brotherhood Home, The American Red Cross, or Hospice of Summa.
