Glenn E. Shaw

Glenn E. Shaw

Glenn E. Shaw, 66, passed away on July 4, 2013.

Genn was a Deputy Sheriff in Ohio and in Florida; MP in the Army, his whole life was based on law enforcement. He retired as a security guard from Granger Co. in Northfield. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, Vietnam 9th Infantry Division, decorated with a Purple Heart and many more medals. Glenn left the army at the rank of Sgt. E-6. He was a proud American. He had Agent Orange, which this country wanted to forget about. He never received any help from this country including the V.A. He was lucky to get a flag, this is only because he had a DD-214. He never cried about PSTD, or what the war did to him. "Oh, I broke a toenail" I need to check what I can get from the V.A. and all he got was spit at. Nothing like today on TV, "I got your back". On behalf of my brother and myself, I thank the Vietnam Veterans, some gave, some gave their all.

Glenn was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, the greatest big brother, and friend to all. And to his best friend Jeff, remember the seat belts.

To my brother, Glenn E. Shaw, My hero, your brother, Shannon Lee Shaw

Memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 7th at Knapp Pavilion, off Cottage Groove, on the Portage Lakes at 1 p.m.
