Gretchen Andres

Gretchen, 55, died at her home Sunday, October 10, 2010.

She was a graduate of Our Lady of the Elms, Kent State University, and the Ohio College of Massotherapy. Gretchen was a veteran employee of Dr. Waickman, spent time in her early career at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and was a practicing licensed massotherapist.

Gretchen loved to read, relax by tinkering in her garden and, yes, by ironing! She was a life-long Tribe fan, a many gallon American Red Cross donor and did what she could to shore up her spiritual being. She laughed easily and did so, often, at her own inadequacies and foibles. Gretchen lived unencumbered, fun and fulfilled - by both fortune and choice but either way, with gratitude.

Gretchen Sue leaves her classy, cute wonderful 91 year old mother, Anne; siblings, Thomas and wife, Martha, Christopher and Bernadette; brother-in-law, Leonard Breiding and his wife, Susan, 23 nieces and nephews; notably her godson, Christian Breiding and his brother, Damien and their cousins, Kevin Andres and Katie Feinstein; as well as an incredible array of devoted and treasured friends.

She was preceded on our early journey by her dad, William; and sisters, Karen Andres Breiding and Monica Andres; and such a friend, Ruth Rea.

Fr. Ralph Thomas will celebrate a memorial Mass at St. Paul Catholic Church, Friday, October 15, 2010 at 11:30 A.M.

Gretchen asked that donations in her memory be directed to Project: LEARN of Summit County, 60 South High Street, Akron 44236 or a worthy charity of your choosing. Please take gentle care of Mom. Peace.
