Heather Ann Mink

Heather Ann Mink, age 50, of Regent Road, Carlsbad, Calif., passed away Saturday, February 15th after a brief but extremely courageous fight from cancer. She had her loving parents and sister by her side to cradle her in comfort in her last moments.

Heather was born in McKees-port, Pa. and grew up in Aurora and Boardman, Ohio. She graduated from Boardman High School and went on to receive her bachelor's degree from Cleveland State University. A transplant Ohioan in Carlsbad, Calif. for the past 14 years; Heather worked as a personal trainer and was an avid fitness junkie; she always claimed she lived the California dream. Heather loved life and lived it to its fullest. Stealing a quote from a dear friend of hers, "she was beautiful, she was funny, she was a great friend, we were all blessed to have known her; you will be missed beyond words."

Heather leaves behind a wonderful 11 year old son, Evan Clarke for whom she adored; and is survived by her parents, Gerald and Longine Mink, Bluffton, S.C.; sister, Hayley Long and her husband Andrew and their two children Adam and Courtney, Aurora, Ohio; two brothers, Jason Mink and his wife Jane and their daughter Ashley, Akron, Ohio, and Jarrod Mink and his wife Danielle and their children Lindsey, Madelyn and Jarrod, Aurora, Ohio; Heather also leaves behind many dear friends both in Ohio and California; there are too many to list but we thank all of you for your support.

Memorial service will be held March 30, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Portage Country Club, 240 N. Portage Path, Akron, Ohio 44303
