John J. Andrews, Jr.

John J. Andrews, Jr., age 82, was called home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2014.

He was born August 11, 1931 in Hessel, Mich. He was a full-blooded Native American of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Preceded in death by son, John J. Andrews III; parents, John and Cecelia Andrews; brother, James Andrews; and sisters, Mary Willis and Patricia Andrews; he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beverly Andrews; children, Twila K. Andrews-Dorner and John J. (Angela) Andrews IV; grandchildren, JohnMichael Dorner, James (Amanda) Hankinson, and Shauna (Dustin) McGeorge; four great-grandsons; brothers, Joseph Andrews of Wadsworth and George (Gail) Andrews of Fairfax, Va.; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews; and special friend, Debbie, at the Wadsworth Walmart Pharmacy.

John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He retired from B&W in Barberton, where he was a welder and pipefitter and was hand selected by the President of the United States to manufacture trident submarine missiles. John was an original charter member of the Wadsworth Moose. He was a generous and kind man that was willing to help anybody with anything.

Funeral arrangements will be May 10, 2014 in Hessel, Mich., with Traditional Native American Services.
