John Robert Primm
John Robert Primm, 95, of Springfield, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Springfield Masonic Community.
He was born December 1, 1918 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the son of John A. and Eva (Pritchard) Primm. He spent his early years and youth in the Akron area; a graduate of Kenmore High School. He shared his adult life in Ohio and California. John was a veteran of World War II
serving with the 351st BG, 508th BS in 8th Air Force, England. John was a 65 year member of Victory Lodge #649 F.&A.M. Kenmore/Akron and also a member of A.A.S.R. Valley of Dayton and Covenant Presbyterian Church. He retired from B.F. Goodrich Tire Co,. with 37 years in Field Division, Regional Sales Manager of San Francisco Region. John was an avid golfer, bowler, traveler, enjoyed music, writing, baseball and volunteering. For many years he was veteran coordinator of the Springfield Masonic Community.
John is survived by his wife of 14 years, Joan and nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Ruth Carsey Primm; one brother, George Primm; and four sisters, Ruth Potter, Mary Birkbeck, Betty France and Dorothy Buffington.
A celebration of John's life will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Auditorium at the Springfield Masonic Community with Chaplain Bruce Vincent and Rev. Ray Stewart officiating. Masonic service will precede the memorial service and inurnment will follow at the Masonic Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Springfield Masonic Community, 2655 W.
