Kenneth F. Weis
Kenneth F. Weis, 90, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013.
He was born in Logan, Ohio and was an Akron area resident since age 27. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 1985 after 38 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. Kenneth was a member of Firestone Park Methodist Church, Firestone VFW Post 3383 and he was a former church trustee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Lucy (Hartman) Weis; and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty L. (Faidley) Weis; daughter, Joyce (Lindsay) Thomas; son, Dennis (Emilee) Weis; brother, Richard Weis; grandchildren, Brian Thomas, Jennifer (Thomas) Stancil and Sarah Billings; and great-grandchildren, Tommy and Danny.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron where the family will receive friends from 12 p.m. (noon) to 2 p.m. Rev. Patricia Christ officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park where Firestone VFW Post 3383 will also conduct military honors.
