Leona Elizabeth (Galati) Brehm

Leona Elizabeth (Galati) Brehm, known as "Mrs. Lee" formerly of Boca Raton, Florida passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014.

Born in Akron, Ohio on February 20, 1918, she attended school in Akron and worked at Goodyear Aircraft during World War II, as a welder on Air-ships. A gymnast, she competed in the American Turners 36th National Tournament in Springfield, Mass., in 1941.

Lee married Jake Brehm of Akron in 1944, and they moved to Palm Beach and Hialeah. Lee attended schools at Miami-Dade Junior College and the University of Miami.

Lee taught Kindergarten and later worked as Recreation Director of Bright Park in Hialeah. She taught Music, Sports and Art

She was preceded in death by her husband; and her sisters, Laura Iampietro and Tillie Morris. She is survived by two nephews, James Lee and Thomas Morris, both of Akron.

A private burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron. There will be no calling hours or funeral ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sterling House of Akron or Brookdale Hospice. Arrangements under the direction of Karlo-Libby Funeral Home.
