Louis P. Bilinovich

Louis P. Bilinovich, age 97, passed away March 23, 2014 in Cape Coral, Fla.

He was born July 21, 1916 in Akron, Ohio to the late Peter and Catherine (Wate) Bilinovich. Louis was one of the founders of the B&C Machine Company, a family owned and operated business, and he worked well into his 80's. He was a life long member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where he assisted with the current church building project. He was also a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and the German American Club, both in Cape Coral, Fla. Louis served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater in the Burma Campaign, where he was a 1st Lieutenant, and graduated from OCS School. Louis was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Asiatic -Pacific Theater Medals.

Louis is survived by his wife, Ruth (Boone); children, Linda (Steve) Anderson of Florida, Leslie (June) Bilinovich of Clinton, Ohio, Dennis (Paula) Bilinovich of Clinton, Ohio, Christina (Mike) Spicer of Charlotte, N.C., Michael (Barbara) Bilinovich of Medina, Gary Bilinovich of Chicago, Ill., Susan (Mark) Codding of Medina, James (Rhonda) Bilinovich of Houston, Texas, Joseph (Patricia) Bilinovich of Medina, Kathleen (Steve) Lilly of Chicago, Ill., and Timothy (Jennifer) Bilinovich of Medina; 22 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Bilinovich of Cambridge, Ohio; his sister, Ester Homani of Medina; a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette (Pierce) Bilinovich to whom he was married 46 years; second wife, Shirley Taylor; and nine brothers and sisters.

Family will receive friends Sunday, March 30, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 31, 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, Fr. John Lee will officiate.
