Mary M. McIlwain

Mary M. McIlwain, 96, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013.

She was born on the Miller family farm on the Lincoln Highway in Williamstown, Ohio, and graduated valedictorian of her class. She also graduated from Bliss College in Columbus, Ohio where she met and married her husband on the grounds of Ohio State University before moving to Akron in early 1940's.

She was a member of the former St. Paul's United Methodist church and Eastern Star Anna Dean Chapter #595. Mary loved golfing at Firestone Country Club, bowling, music, singing, and gardening. She was also very active in her church.

Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Woodrow Wilson, Sr., son, Woodrow Wilson, Jr.; Mary is survived by her daughter, JoAnne Nelson; grandson, John Nelson, Diane Schnee; and great-grandkids, Amanda and John Robert; nephews, Mark (Linda) Miller, John (Karen) Miller of Findlay Ohio; along with other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton OH 44203 with Deacon Robin Adair, officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling hours will be Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. 330-745-3311
