Patricia Anne McNeely Justice

Patricia Anne McNeely Justice R.N.

Patricia ended her earthly journey on March 23, 2013 at the age of 85. She was a lifelong Akron resident and devout Catholic who cherished her Irish heritage.

A brave breast cancer survivor, she endured many setbacks with a smile on her face as her primary focus was always on family and friends.

Patricia was a graduate of South High School, class of 1945 and St. Thomas School of Nursing in 1948, where she served as Class Treasurer. Her nursing career began at Green Cross & St. Thomas hospitals.

Patricia's legacy at Fallsview Psychiatric hospital set the standard for professionalism in nursing for over 30 years.

As an avid poker player, she relished many trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. For over five decades, she gathered with her St. Thomas classmates for a monthly card game, "put your ante in honey". Her successes were only temporary, as her charities were the beneficiaries of her winnings.

She lived for the Christmas season and made it magical for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Mildred McNeely; brother, Paulie; uncle, William "Boog" McGlaughlin; and lifelong friend, Lois Urbank. She leaves behind her cherished family: sons, Gene (Joyce), and Michael; daughter, Sallie; grandchildren, Charles (Karie), Nicole (Brian), Adam (Kristen), Victoria (Jeremy), Michael, Britney (Zach), Patrick (Heather); and six great-grandchildren, Alyson Renee, Hannah Ryleigh, Aiden McNeel, Madison Nicole, Keegan Paul and Connor Jackson.

May the road rise to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

the rains fall soft upon your fields,

and until we meet again...

May God hold you

in the palm of his hand.

Rest in Peace "Granny Girl". We will miss you.
