Peter S. Allendorf

Peter S. Allendorf passed away peacefully on June 24, 2013.

He was born in Bradford, Pa. and grew up in East Aurora, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his father, Baltzar Allendorf and mother, Eleanor Allendorf. He leaves behind three children, Aimee (Jerry) Jones of Akron, Ohio, Peter S. Allendorf, Jr. (Tricia) of Stow, Ohio, and David P. Allendorf (Kristy) of McKinney, Texas. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Jacob and Jaimee Jones, Sydney, Audrey and Presley Allendorf, and Brooke and David Luke Allendorf.

Pete spent his career working for Merrill Lynch and retired after 41 years with the firm. His career started in New York and took him to Maryland, Ohio, New Jersey, Indiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Louisiana. He was very proud of his work with Merrill and would always say how well Merrill treated him. That was something to be admired.

He was an avid fisherman, golfer and enjoyed watching nearly any sport, especially baseball, horse racing and the Indy 500. He was the greatest OSU fan there ever was. He found joy in watching his grandchildren play sports and loved to tease them at every chance he could. He was very proud of their great grades in school and couldn't believe that any grandkids of his were so smart. He also loved his hometown of East Aurora, New York and never missed a reunion. He was even planning to go this July. He treasured the memories of time spent at the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora. Pete enjoyed life to the fullest and truly did things "his way."

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd., COPLEY. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora, 24 Paine Street, East Aurora, NY, 14052. Please visit where condolences and memories may be shared.
