Ralph Sypolt(1931 - 2013)

Ralph Sypolt

Ralph Sypolt passed away on September, 24, 2013 after a short illness.

He was the oldest of nine born to Walter & Faye on July 9, 1931 in Rowlesburg, W.Va. Dad grew up working the family farm using horses and hard work. Being the oldest he was responsible for teaching the younger boys as well as working on "Grandad's" and several Uncle's farms. He served his country by spending two years in Korea then moved to Akron, Ohio where he worked at General Tire for 27 years. During this time Ralph was also a Green Township Volunteer Fireman, Green Schools bus driver, active in Summit County 4-H helping his kids showing horses and even had his own barrel racing horse.

Dad taught all of us about honesty and hard work. He was a "jack of all trades" and was always willing to help someone if asked. He never said anything bad about anyone and was very content with the simple things in life. But, most of all he loved his time with his family and will be missed greatly!

Ralph is survived by his wife, Eleanor; sons, Dale, Bill and Kevin (Bonnie); and daughters, Debbie (Chuck) Bergdorf and Darla (John) Penza. He has 13 beautiful grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren whom he greatly loved and enjoyed. He is also survived by brothers, John (Ethel), Cecil (Marilyn), Clyde (Sally), Rob (Carolyn), Rick (Alice); his sister, Jane (Richard) Knotts; and sister-in-law, Georgene Biggins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim (Marie); and sister and brother-n-law, Ruby and Rich Dean; and mother-in-law, Nellie Kemp who loved him dearly. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road (St Rt 619) with Clyde Sypolt officiating. Family and friends may call on Saturday, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Ralph elected to be cremated and his remains will be buried at East Liberty Cemetery in Green, and at the Sypolt Family Cemetery on his family's Farm in Rowlesburg, W.Va.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Summa, and especially Louise and Michael for taking great care of Dad in his final days.
