Regina Marie (Smith) Poleondakis
EUFAULA, AL -- Regina Marie (Smith) Poleondakis, age 55, passed away July 5, 2013, after an extended illness.
She is survived by her children, Antha, Paige, and George; her sisters, Pamela, and Sylvia; and her mother, Anna.
Regina was born on August 25, 1957. After graduating from Eufaula High School, she became a world traveler when she began working as a flight attendant for Air Florida. Soon after retiring from flying, she put her impeccable writing skills to use as a lead Journalist
for the National Inquirer in Lantana, Fla. It was here that she met the father of her three beautiful children, Tony Pole-ondakis. They started a wonderful life together in Akron, Ohio. Regina took on the role of a business woman and opened her own children's boutique clothing store, "Little Angels." During these years she worked towards achieving her Master's in Shakespearean Literature and began authoring her first novel, "Before I Wake." She upheld her status as dutiful mother and a loyal Girl Scout Troop Leader for her daughters. In 1996, she was blessed with her third child, a baby boy named, George. On that same day, she received news that her first novel had been released to the public and was being sold at bookstores around the world. This was one of the happiest times of her life.
A ceremony will be held, during church service, on August 25, 2013 at the Annunciation Akron Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union Street, Akron, OH 44304. Followed by a reception with light refreshments in the church hall.
