Richard Dunlap passed away November 27, 2012 at the age of 88.
He was a life resident of Akron and retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Company with 32 years service. He was a veteran of World War II
and the Korean Conflict
Richard belonged to the Masonic Order where he served as Worshipful Master of Ernest Shafer Lodge #739 in 1971 and 1989. He was president of Masters Wardens Association in 1972, and he was a 50-plus year member of Mount Akra Lodge 680. Richard was a 32-degree Mason Valley of Akron. He also was a member of Cuyahoga Falls Chapter 225, Akron Council #89, Akron Commandary #25, Tadmor Temple Shrine, and a member of the Tadmor Clown Unit serving as Director in 1989.
Richard was a member of First United Methodist Church of Akron.
Preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Zula (Judy) Dunlap, and sister, Ruth Carol, he is survived by his loving wife, Shirley.
Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 E. Market Street, Akron), Pastor Michael Shaub officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012, where Masonic Services will be conducted by Mount Akra Lodge #680 at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children (3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229).
