Sally Mae Kilgore (Velloney), 62, went home unexpectedly to join her beloved husband, Gerald Velloney on June 30, 2013.
She was born June 23, 1951 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to Colin and Eva Kilgore. She was a 1969 graduate of Kiski High School, Leechburg, Pa. and a 1972 graduate of Indiana University
, Indiana, Pa. She later earned her Masters Degree from Ohio State University
. She was a teacher in Cleveland for several years before moving to the Portage Lakes area. She continued her teaching career at Litchfield Middle School where she taught special needs children for 35 years before retiring in 2007.
On January 4, 2003, she married the love of her life, Gerald "Jerry" Velloney, who preceded her in death on June 10, 2006. After her retirement, Sally became a troop leader with the Junior Girl Scout Troop 90167, Manchester District with her friend, Carrie. Sally loved all people and animals, especially her six cats. If you ever needed help, she was always there to lend a helping hand.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Sally is survived by her sister, Susan (Jeff Moore) Clever of Norfolk, Va.; stepsons, Tim Velloney of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Jeff Velloney of Barberton; grandchildren, Devin, Jenna, Emma and their mother, Tonya Waddle (Nick Thomas) of Barberton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Emily (John) Yeager of Akron and Andrea (Lesley) Norton of St. Louis, Mo.; nieces, Amber (Michael Strouse) Clever and Gina (Brian) Boyle; nephews, Chris and Patrick Yeager; great-nephew, Evan; special friends, Cindy (Ed) Kovacich, Kathy (Paul) Scott, Lisa (Ron) Crosky, Dian Prentice, Carrie (Chris) Fox, along with many others, including all of her loving neighbors; and cat family, Matthew, Thomas, Melissa, Sami, Lesa, and Anesa.
Sally, we know you are now with the love of your life. We love you and we will miss you!
