Sandra Marie Taylor

Sandra Marie Taylor passed away peacefully in Akron, Ohio on December 17, 2012 at the age of 65.

She was born on January 5, 1947, in Akron, Ohio to the late Charles and Katherine King. Sandy grew up in North Hill, attended North High School and then The University of Akron.

Sandy was a homemaker who loved her dogs, flowers, gardening, reading, decorating for the holidays, traveling, taking walks in the Gorge and most importantly spending time with her family. She loved packing up, throwing the travel trailer behind the truck and taking off, frequently visiting Salt Fork in the summers and Brownsville, Texas in the winters. Sandy cherished her time spent with Denny, her husband of 40 years, along with their children, Michelle and Chad, as well as their grandchildren.

Sandy selflessly put her family first, looking out for everybody else before herself. She always had the right words of encouragement when needed and comfort when necessary. Her smile and bubbly spirit were always welcoming. Even up to her last day on earth, while staring down an overwhelming battle for life, she bravely saw to it that her family would be alright when she was gone.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Dennis R. Taylor; daughter, Michelle (David) Benson of Copley; son, Chad (Adel) Taylor of Cuyahoga Falls; brothers, Tom King of California and David King of Akron; grandchildren, Adam, Connor, Kevin, Chase, Brooklyn and Lauren; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She lived a zestful and wonderful life and will be deeply missed.

Memorial Mass will take place Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Blessed Trinity Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron, with visitation starting at 9 a.m. Sandra's final resting place will be Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions in memory of Sandy Taylor to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
