Stanley (Eustachio) S. Volpe
Stanley (Eustachio) S. Volpe, passed away Jan. 29, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Stanley was born in Akron to the late Guiseppe and Marzia (Del Giudice) Volpe and lived in Akron most of his life. He was a graduate of North High School and attended the University of Akron. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War
as a paratrooper and cook.
Stanley was a proud member of the ASPCA, Humane Society and American Legion, Charles Faust Post 281. He worked at the Summit Co. Auditor's Office for about 20 years until his retirement. Stanley loved walking his dog Schroeder, spending time with his family and golfing.
Along with his parents; Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Robin; son, Mark; and his beloved dogs, Schroeder, Babboo and Rerunn. He is survived by children, Louise Volpe and Dane Volpe; grandchildren, Joseph, Melissa, Barrett, Shaun, Christina, Dalena and Gabbriella; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Justine, Whitley, Chase, Grant, Gage; brother, Sam; sisters, Maria Cesaria and Vincenza (Enza); and many other loving family and friends, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, 12 Noon at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home, 936 N, Main St., Akron (Corner of N. Main St. and Mildred). Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, Stanley requested his body be donated to Northeast Ohio University College of Medicine for medical research and studies, cremated then placed with the ashes of his three dogs where they will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean near the coast of San Diego. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local SPCA.
