William S. Sebastian
William S. Sebastian passed away peacefully on March 17, 2014, after a battle with lung cancer. Dad was surrounded by all who cared, loved him, and helped him through the last several weeks. He will be greatly missed by all.
William was born in Akron, Ohio on April 4, 1924 where he grew up and went to school. Dad left high school to join the U.S. Marine Corps
and served our country in World War II
in the Pacific. He fought in the Islands of Tarawa and Saipan where he was injured and returned home. When Dad returned home he met and married Virginia Rogers on April 7, 1945. Dad went on to work for Akron Equipment, retiring after 42 years of service. He was proud to make tire molds and later designed the molds for all the tire companies of Akron. He loved to fish, play cards, his grandchildren were the love of his life, he truly enjoyed teaching them and sharing his knowledge.
Preceded in death (1993) by his loving wife, Virginia Mae Rogers; mother and father, Elizabeth and Steven Sebastian; he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Donald, David (Deborah), Robert (Jacqueline); grandsons, William (Katherine), Michael (Terine), Christopher, Nicholas, Justin, Jason; two great-grandchildren, he was awaiting for this summer, and all Grandpa Bill's extended family. Our family would like to Thank Hospice (Keri) for their compassionate care and support.
Funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Tr. in Cuyahoga Falls, Rev. Keith McLaughlin officiating, and where friends may call 11 a.m. until service time. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Valley Fire District, Akron Police Department or the Salvation Army. CUYAHOGA FALLS
