"Uncle Bill" Evans

William Carl "Uncle Bill" Ev ans, 82, of Suffield Twp., passed away at his home Wednesday, December 17, 2003.

Born in Akron on June 16, 1921, he then moved to Suffield in 1933. He graduated from Suffield High School in 1939. As a senior, he helped his team in the championship game by scoring eight points in an 8 to 0 win over heavily favored Aurora. Uncle Bill was a life long farmer and an avid sports fan of many nephews and nieces who loved him dear ly. Bill spent many years sup porting his brother's (Walt) teams, whom he coached at Mogadore for many years.

Preceded in death by his par ents, William and Mary Evans, he is survived by his brother, Walter J. Evans of Suffield; sisters, Donna N. Vida of St. Pe tersburg, Fla., and Marilou Rupert of Freeport, Ohio; and nieces and nephews, Ralph Rupert, Beth Pikor, Sue Pniewski, Karl Rupert, Anita Crowley, Ken Evans, Steve Evans, Diane Lott, Dan Evans, Dave Evans, Carol Lott, Jane Kober, Deb Vida, and Brad Vida.

Funeral service Saturday, 10 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver MOGA DORE Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Ave., with Carl Rupert ministering the service. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
