I just learned of Jim's passing today and am shocked. My entire family (and many friends I recommended him to) trusted Jim w/our cars since he was at the Marathon Station back in the 80's. He was one of a vanishing breed of "old school" neighborhood mechanics you could always trust and count on. Honorable, personable, and very hardworking, his passing is truly a loss for the community.

Joanne and Family

I am still in shock and heartbroken for you and your children. I just learned of Jim's passing last week. He was the first and only mechanic I trusted going back to his days at Marathon and depended on him many times in many ways. I know how devoted you were to each other. If there is anything I can do for you please do not hesitate to ask. You and your children are in my thoughts.

We are very shocked and sad to learn of Jim's passing. We've only been coming to Jim's shop for about two years now, but in that little time had come to trust and really feel like this is the automotive place for us to turn to for all our vehicles. The community has lost a good business man. We express to you our sincerest sympathies. Our hearts and prayers are with you and we grieve along with you during this incredible time. God bless you all.

I first met Jim when his shop was on Hudson Drive back in the late 90's. He always went out of his way to help me with cars. His most important quality was his honesty, which is a rarity in his profession. He always took the time to explain things to me in great detail. I will miss seeing him at the shop and talking with him about cars. He always treated both me and my wife with respect. He even invited my family to a Christmas party at the shop a few years ago. He will be greatly missed by this community, and his legacy is that you can be successful in the car repair business if you treat people right, the way Jim did. He never steered me wrong! Thanks Jim!

Jim's family is in my thoughts and prayers. I was shocked to hear about Jim's sudden passing and have his business family in my thoughts and prayers, too. He was a business man who could be trusted and who would take the time to offer friendly advice to a relatively new business owner. I will miss my conversations with him. He was truly one of the good guys. I am so sorry for your loss.

I was saddened to hear of Jim passing away. Though I did not know him on a personal level I know he was the only individual I have trusted my vehicles to for many years. Every one from my mother to friends I've recommended to go to Jims for their car service. In todays day and times Jim was a rarity of honesty and integrity. I see that sentiment echoed here with peoples comments but I had to say something about some one as honest, fair and a good Christian man as Jim.He walked in the light here and now he walks in the light again. God bless to the family.

My sympathies to Jim's family and friends. Jim was always very pleasant and open to conversation with me concerning business or just life in general. I'm sure he will not only be missed by those who loved him, but also by the vendors that he'd dealt with. There are many friendships built in the business that Jim was a part of and many mutual acquaintances. My thoughts and prayers to all.

The family of Jim Molek:
My deepest sympathy to the Molek Family. Indeed our community has lost an honest good fellow. I've used Jim's auto expertise since he worked at Ertley's Marathon, and followed him to his own business in the 90's because of his honesty and integrity. He just fixed my car a couple of weeks ago, and again in expert fashion. It was always a pleasure to do business with him. I'm truly heart-broken, and for the family as well. Wishing the family strength during this difficult time......

Jim was the kindest, most honest businessman and friend to me for many years now. I could trust Jim with my vehicle and know he was looking out for my best interests when it came to my car, Most importantly he was like an older brother to me. I could trust his advise.

I'm so shocked and saddened that our community has lost a great man and a loving husband and father.

My prayers, condolences, and sympathies are with Joann and her family at this difficult time. May Jim rest in peace.

Dear Molek family, I am very sad to hear that Jim has passed away. I know Jim from my dad, Don Shallahamer, when they worked together at the Marathon. When my dad retired, there was no question for me, that Jim would become my mechanic. I always enjoyed conversation with Jim and always found him to be very honest, hardworking, trustworthy and fair. Thank you, to all of you, for sharing him with all of us. I know how many long hours are spent away from family by a hard working mechanic. I pray you will all find peace and comfort in all your wonderful memories of your Jim! God's peace and love to your family! Cheryl Genda
