Leonard Beasley Obituary

Leonard James Beasley, Sr., 64, died July 20, 2010 at his home in Portage Lakes, Ohio.

Mr. Beasley was born August 26, 1945 in Akron, Ohio to John H. and Ernestine Beasley. He graduated from North High School and later served in the United States Army. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at an early age and was a member of Greater Bethel Baptist Church. He was a proud retiree of Norton Company and enjoyed fishing, listening to gospel music and talking to his children, friends and family.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Leonard is survived by his parents, John H. and Ernestine Beasley; sister, Cheryl Witherspoon; brother, Terry (Willa) Beasley, Larry (Georgia) Beasley and Joe Stephens; his children, Leonard James Beasley, Jr., Regina (Jamie) Tate, Deitra (Tommie) Douglas and numerous grandchildren, cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 26, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Greater Bethel Baptist Church, 404 S. Arlington St., Akron, OH 44306, Senior Pastor Melford Elliot, officiating. Friends may visit at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Procession will form at 878 Emory Ave., Akron, Ohio and condolences may be sent to 5505 Haybridge Rd., Charlotte, N.C. 28269.

At the time of his passing, I was in Charlotte, NC and as such wasn't able to made it to the service... However Please do know Lynn, Regina and Dietra that you will always be my sisters and brother.
