Robert Sweitzer Obituary
Robert was born in Akron to the late Karl and Madge (Howard) Sweitzer and lived in the Cuyahoga Falls area most of his life. He graduated from Central High School and while serving in the U.S. Navy in England, attended the Royal Naval Academy. Robert retired as Vice President of Akron Gear and Engineering after 43 years of service and was a member of the Summit Co. Machine Shop Association.
Robert was a man of strong will who was compassionate and generous. He was funny and had a great sense of humor. Robert was a great athlete, avid golfer and a remarkable machinist.
Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman and Donald Sweitzer and sisters, Irene Brown and Ethel Singer. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Elizabeth ``Libby'; children, Susanne (Richard) Ulibarri and Robert H. Sweitzer II; grandchildren, Jude, Krista and Robert; brother, Ed Sweitzer; and many special nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON. Graveside service will be Tuesday at 11:30 at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, with military rites conducted by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281, with the procession leaving from the funeral home at 11 a.m.

Dear Aunt Libby, Bobby, Sue and Richard and family,
Uncle Bob was a kind, warm, and caring person, and I was very sad to hear of his passing. I'm thinking of you all, and remembering how much I always enjoyed his company and good humor. As a connoisseur of sweets, he always knew the best dessert (or desserts!) to select after a meal. Love, Lori
