I feel I should mention this even though I am not what I was a year ago. I have change in weight, mind, body, spirit. A journey I at first fought not to take. When David died it change me some for good some for bad. I lost myself and one day awoke to find out who Mandy was. I have survived a year without him and I now know I can go on and be whatever I want to be. Yes I loved him and so did Larry. I will miss him always. I can go on and stand tall. I am a awesome mom, sister, daughter, and woman. Today marks a year of the death of a man I thought could not die, but did. I will always love you.

This is something Dave always said to me. I thought I would share it.
Be true to yourself and master of your own destiny.

If people can’t share your hopes and dreams or accept the real you, they are not meant to be in your life.

The wealth of life is being happy, being you!

I've known David since he was born. He added an element of whimsy and joy to a talented, intellectually gifted family. He leaves us all with an empty space no one else can fill. He added mystery about how he saw life and played it out; he ran to the tune of a different drummer, maybe one that fare surpassed ours. I'll always miss him,---
His dear Father and Mother's friend,
Carol

I loved David every day for 10 years. Our son Larry says every day how he wants his daddy and who will game with him. I miss his smile, his kiss and warm embrace. The way he called me just say I love you,and I miss you even though he just left 5 minutes ago. He never was mean always kind and gently. Something I never had and will always miss I'm lonely where is my partner the one I was meant to grow old with. I will love you forever and a day baby. I will see you again honey. My bright eyes. This man was a great man, a awesome man, a geek man.

I knew Dave passingly through my friend Elizabeth, but I saw him every year at Marcon, and he was always such a nice guy. I know he was greatly loved by all his friends and he will be sorely missed.

I worked with David at Kent State until I had to move in May. I am so happy I got to see him again the day I graduated in August.

He was so supportive of me when I was going through difficult times last year. My biggest regret is that I never got to tell him 'thank you' in person. So I would like to let his family know how much I appreciated his kindness, patience, knowledge of Star Trek and other nerdy things.

I missed him when I moved and I miss him even more now.

Thanks, David, you were a great friend.

My best memory of Dave was after my mom died in 2005. Everyone came to my aid, including Dave. Dave was the last one to leave that night, even though he had to work the next day, he left at 4am and was still offering to stay the rest of the night.

There is an empty chair, at the table this day.

A hallowed place where, a friend once played.

The roll of his dice, my ears long to hear.

Or perhaps it would suffice, if he should suddenly appear.

With character sheet in hand, and a bag of Cheeze-doodles to share.

All his friends would stand, as he sat in the empty chair.

I hear his voice a-callin’, and it ties my heart in a knot.

For he cries, "Though a comrade has fallen, You must play for those who cannot."

We conquered worlds on the run, he and I in the name of fun.

And as others may come and go, I make both friend and foe.

But what I long for most, is our past now long a ghost.

David,
My memory is of us at Monroe Elementary in the late 70's seeing who could jump farthest off the swing set, then flash forward to high school band. Life makes it hard to stay in touch over the years but memories of friends remain for life. The thoughts & prayers of my family are with you & your family.
