SILVER LAKE Florence Pe terson Rush, 92, passed away peacefully July 18, 2004, at home.

She lived her entire life in the Akron area and attended the University of Akron. Florence met her husband, Malcolm, at Goodyear while working in accounts payable. They were mar ried for 54 years. She was a lifetime member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, being active in the Dorcas Soci ety and president of the Luther an Church of America. While living in Silver Lake,she was a member of the Garden Club and the Aurora Social Club. Many years were spent helping at the Akron City Hospital rummage sale. Her family and church were her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Sr.; parents, Carl and Anna; broth ers, John, Albert, Melvin, and Herbert; and sister, Agda Mox ley. Survivors include her daughter, Harriet (Gabriel) of North Olmsted; sons, Herbert of Silver Lake and Malcolm Jr. (Barbara) of Decatur, Ala.; grandsons, Mitchell of Panama City, Fla., and Douglas of Deca tur, Ala.; great-grandson, Charles of Decatur, Ala.; sister- in-law, Gwen Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.

Florence had been ill for a number of years. She was able to stay in her own home due to the good care given to her by Doris McDaniels, Darla Ice, Donna Houpt, and Flo Voytek. The family extends their gratitude and thanks to them.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 833 Carroll St., Pastor Deborah Wissner officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Calling hours Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Silva Funeral Home, 3653 W. Market St., Fairlawn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Evan gelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
