I recently learned of Joe's passing. He was so much more than a colleauge; he was a friendly face on the most hectic days and, above all, a valued friend. All who knew him are the better for it.

Sadly, I recently learned of the passing of Joe. Joe and I worked together as graduate students at Texas A&M. I still have many fond memories of that time. Joe had qualities that made him a great person to work with, as we spent many hours together for some time. I want to express my deepest sympathies to Diane and the rest of his family. This must be a difficult time for you.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

One of the kindest men I've ever known. The love of Christ radiated from his life every day that I saw him in the halls of Jones Day.
"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." ~ 2 Timothy 4:8

I admired Joe as a professional colleague and even more as man of God who lived his faith. His sharing on his blog during his battle with the cancer was extremely moving and revealed a deep relationship with his Savior. Please accept my sincere sympathies in your loss. I am uncertain as to my ability to make the service but will if I can. I will hold you up in prayer in the coming days.

I did not personally know your husband and father, but felt a connection from CCO and the community of friends we share. Joe's biggest desire was to glorify God in all he did. As a nurse, I have shared Joe's blog with the many pancreatic cancer patients I care for as a registered nurse. His life, even the part of it that was diseased, touched and inspired many people that he never knew. I pray for the Comforter to embrace you with love, peace, and joy during this difficult time.
