Ada Virginia Christian, 80, of Akron, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, November 15, 2012. |
She was born in Buffalo Valley, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James and Georgia Myrtle (Williams) Russell. She previously attended Trinity United Church of the Nazarene, in Springfield, Ohio, she was active in TOPS for many years, and she loved sewing, crafting, and fishing. Ada dedicated her life to being a devoted wife and mother, and she especially adored being a grandmother.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Christian on September 4, 1988.
Ada leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Gary Schott, of Akron, Kathy and Bernie Anderson, of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Greg (Kelli) Schott, Dawn (Josh) Ocker, Diana, Melissa, Christina, and Tom Anderson, and Kevin Schott; nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Christine (Bob) Maggart.
Friends will be received on Monday, November 19, 2012 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls. Rev. Harold Bradley will officiate and burial will take place at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Senior Independence Hospice, 1815 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313, who provided such wonderful care.
The family would especially like to thank Nancy, Neely, and Connie.
