CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Alfred I. "Jack" Dills, 88, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012.|
A resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Jack retired from Ohio Edison.
He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the Occupation of Japan. Jack was a member of Akra Lodge #680 F&AM, 32 Degree Scottish Rite Valley of Akron, Yusef Khan Grotto and Tadmor Temple.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Susie Dills; his son, Richard Dills; first wife, Eleanor Dills; sisters, Elgie Lou Dills, Francis Somerville and Bertia Ezell; and brother, Marvin "Bob" Dills; Jack is survived by wife, Katherine; daughters, Sandra (Dick) Boyes and Kimberly (Todd) Bergstrom; son, Roger (Kathy) Dills; many grandchildren; sister, Lucille (Raymond) Davis; brothers, Clarence (Lena) Dills and John (Gayle) Dills; and special niece, Teena.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203, with Masonic Service at 4 p.m. conducted by Mount Akra Lodge #680. Per Jack's wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his widow or the funeral home.
