Andrew was born on December 7, 1922 in Dayton, Pennsylvania, later moving to West Akron with his mother and siblings at the age of 13. A graduate of West High School, class of 1940, he was a long time resident of Akron where he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, gardening, watching football, baseball and tinkering around the house.
Andrew proudly served his country for six years in the U.S. Army during World War II and later received the Purple Heart for combat injuries. While recovering in Paris, France, he met and married his wife, Andree, bringing her back to the U.S., where they began their 58 year journey. Andrew retired from The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in 1978 after 35 years of service in the Mill Room Control.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Andree; parents, Phillip and Catherine Costanzo and brother, Sam. He is survived by his son, Philip Costanzo of N. Canton; daughter, Michele Heim (Jack) of Canal Fulton and daughter, Linda Philyaw (Richard) of Massillon; four grandchildren, Renee, Heidi, John and Matthew; and two great-grandchildren, Molly and Jessy. He also leaves his sister, Rose Schaffer and sister-in-law, Anita Costanzo, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
