Carol Joanne "nee Brown" Conway|
Carol Joanne "nee Brown" Conway, 52, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2nd, surrounded by those who loved and cherished her.
A graduate of Barberton High School, Carol wore many hats throughout her life. She was a daughter, sister, wife, friend, nurse, and mother. After many years of employment at St. Thomas Hospital and Barberton Citizens Hospital as a Registered Nurse, Carol retired from nursing to courageously battle Polycystic Kidney Disease. The disease forced her to be on dialysis for the remainder of her life. Through it all, she had the courage and strength to be the greatest mom, wife, and role model a family could have asked for.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Brown; father, Theodore Brown; and brother, Teddy. She is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of 24 years, Jay Edward Conway; son, Nathanial Jason Conway whom has chosen to follow his mother's legacy as a nurse and has obtained a Bachelor's Degree in the Science of Nursing; daughter, Sarah Joanne Conway who is currently attending Kent State University to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in both Accounting and Computer Information-Systems; her brother, Mark (Tammy) and nieces, Megan and Kelsey Brown; brother, Mike (Joyce), nephew, Logan Brown and the other two banshees, Justin and Alice Kislin.
We invite friends and family to celebrate Carol's life and her journey into peace and comfort. Calling hours will be held in Carol's honor from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton. A memorial/celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Grace-Brethren Church, 3970 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd., Norton. In lieu of flowers we like people to donate to the Barberton Free Clinic.
