Charles Frazier Obituary

Charles A. Frazier was born December 16, 1945 to Moses and Kay Tomalsoff Frazier in Charleston, W. Va., and died at home at age 65 on Friday, December 2, 2011.

Mr. Frazier was a 1964 graduate of Sissonville High School. After graduation he joined the Marine Reserve of South Charleston in the engineers. He served from 1964 to 1973 attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He was a Past Master of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio Lodge #187 Free and Accepted Masons and of Portage Lakes Lodge (now Wayfairer) Masonic Lodge #789 in Portage Lakes, Ohio. He was a member of the Scottish Lodge in Canton, Ohio and member of Tadmor Shrine in Akron, Ohio. He was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #245 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and a member of the St. Andrews Society of Pittsburgh, Pa., and a member of Clan MacDonald Order of the Scottish Clans of Youngstown, Ohio. He was employed at Alcon Machine and Tool of Akron for 31 years before disability retirement. He was a Baptist by faith.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Freddy (Bill) Frazier; brother-in-law, Homer E. Taylor, Jr.; sister-in-law, Janet Taylor Hanlon; and father and mother-in-law, Homer and Martha Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Barbara Taylor Frazier; sister, Judy Frazier (Chet) Adkins; children who he loved as his own, Robert (Glenna) Hammack and Jeanne Hammack of Pinch, W. Va.; grandsons, Steven (Sandra) Hammack and Andrew Hammack of Pinch; and great-granddaughters, Amelia Kay Hammack and Haley Dawn Hammack of Pinch; brothers-in-law, Jeff Taylor and Richard Hanlon of Charleston; sisters-in-law, Martha Taylor Shorr of Charleston and Margie Thompson Taylor of Cincinnati; nephews, Chet (Karin) Adkins and Charley (Melanie) Adkins of Charleston.

At his request, his body was cremated. There will be a time of remembrance Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Mausoleum at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens with Andrew Hammack officiating. Interment of cremains will follow at Tyler Maountain Memory Gardens. The family has requested that remembrances be sent to Heritage Baptist Church-Toy Ministry c/o the church at 40 Kayla Lane, Elkview, WV 25071.
