Cynthia Carroll Young Obituary
Cynthia Carroll

Young

(Rowland)

Cynthia Carroll Young (Rowland), together again for eternity with her husband, Jack, September 5, 2018.

She was born August 26, 1931 in Akron and lived her entire 87 years in this area.

She graduated in 1949 from North High School and went on to open her own photography business. She specialized in taking wedding photos, which brought pleasure to hundreds of couples throughout her 45 year career.

She began volunteering at Akron General Medical Center in 1972 and accumulated well over 10,000 volunteer hours over the next 25 years. She also served several years as President or on the Board of the AGMC Women's Service League.

Cynthia loved her family and was the loving, caring glue that held her extended family together for many years. She loved to entertain. She and Jack hosted countess parties, for family and friends, alike. She will always be remembered for her secret recipe "slush". She was loved by her family and was a special friend to so very many.

Her favorite place to vacation was Hawaii. She loved her pet Boxers, playing cards, especially Euchre, collecting camels and looking after others.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jack M. Young (2001) and parents, Wallace and Mary Rowland.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Wallace (Manny) and Hale' Rowland of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter, Peggy Arvay (Frank) of Pickerington, Ohio; son, Ken (Nancy) Young of Bath; grandchildren, Christine Norris (Jarod), Amy Konwinski (Jared), Dan and Erin Arvay; Mark (Bree) Young, Kenny Young and Kara Schlegel (Jason); great grandchildren, Evalynn and Clifton Norris, Josie and Adalynn Konwinski, Roman and Roxi Young; Seona and Ram Schlegel.

Cynthia will be laid to rest with Jack at Rose Hill Cemetery. Per her request, there will be no calling hours, just a graveside service for the immediate family.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Village of St. Edwards for the friendship, service and care that they provided Mom.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio Living Home, Health and Hospice at 83 N. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, or any animal protection league.
